How to Watch the BMW PGA Championship 2026

The BMW PGA Championship returns to Wentworth this week, with one of the strongest fields on the DP World Tour heading to Surrey.

The tournament runs from Thursday 17 September to Sunday 20 September 2026 on the West Course at Wentworth Club.

For viewers in the UK and Ireland, the easiest way to watch is through Sky Sports Golf, with streaming available through NOW. The DP World Tour will also show featured group coverage on its YouTube channel before the main world feed begins.

The simple version: Sky Sports Golf has live coverage of all four rounds, while NOW provides a contract-free streaming option.

What Channel Is the BMW PGA Championship On?

The 2026 BMW PGA Championship will be shown live on Sky Sports Golf in the UK and Ireland.

Sky Sports Main Event will also carry some of the coverage, particularly during the opening two rounds.

The main places to check are:

  • Sky Sports Golf
  • Sky Sports Main Event
  • Sky Sports app
  • Sky Go
  • NOW

Sky Sports Golf is the safest option if you want to follow the tournament from the first tee shot through to the finish.

BMW PGA Championship 2026 TV Schedule

The DP World Tour is providing extended coverage from Wentworth, including featured groups before the main broadcast begins.

Thursday 17 September

  • Featured groups: from 7:30am BST
  • Main world feed: 12:00pm to 6:00pm BST
  • UK broadcaster: Sky Sports Golf

Friday 18 September

  • Featured groups: from 7:30am BST
  • Main world feed: 12:00pm to 6:00pm BST
  • UK broadcaster: Sky Sports Golf

Saturday 19 September

  • Featured groups: from 9:00am BST
  • Main world feed: 12:00pm to 5:30pm BST
  • UK broadcaster: Sky Sports Golf

Sunday 20 September

  • Featured groups: from around 9:00am BST
  • Main world feed: 12:00pm to 5:30pm BST
  • UK broadcaster: Sky Sports Golf

Sky’s own listings may begin slightly earlier than the main DP World Tour broadcast window, particularly for featured groups and studio build-up, so it is worth checking the live schedule on the day.

How to Stream the BMW PGA Championship

If you already have Sky Sports, you can stream the BMW PGA Championship through Sky Go or the Sky Sports app.

If you do not have a Sky TV subscription, the main streaming option is NOW.

NOW gives access to Sky Sports channels without needing a full Sky television package, making it the simplest option if you only want access for the tournament.

The main streaming options are:

  • Sky Go for existing Sky Sports customers
  • Sky Sports app for eligible subscribers
  • NOW Sports Membership
  • DP World Tour YouTube for selected featured group coverage

Can You Watch the BMW PGA Championship for Free?

Full live tournament coverage in the UK is behind the Sky Sports paywall.

However, the DP World Tour is showing featured group coverage on its official YouTube channel during all four rounds.

The featured groups begin before the main world feed and give viewers a chance to follow selected players live.

That means there is some free live golf available, but if you want the full tournament coverage, Sky Sports or NOW is still the main route.

Can You Watch the Celebrity Pro-Am?

Yes.

The BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am takes place on Wednesday 16 September, the day before the main tournament begins.

Sky Sports Golf lists live coverage from around 3:00pm BST.

The Pro-Am has become a major part of BMW PGA Championship week and combines DP World Tour professionals with names from sport and entertainment.

It is much more relaxed than the tournament proper and can be a good way to get into Wentworth week before the serious golf begins on Thursday.

Where Is the BMW PGA Championship Played?

The BMW PGA Championship is played on the West Course at Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey.

Wentworth has become almost inseparable from the tournament and has hosted the championship every year since 1984.

The West Course provides a very different test from many modern tour venues.

Players need to combine:

  • Accurate driving
  • Good iron play
  • Strong course management
  • Reliable scrambling
  • Good putting on quick greens

The closing holes can also create plenty of movement on the leaderboard, which is one reason Sunday at Wentworth is usually worth watching.

Who Is Playing in the BMW PGA Championship?

The 2026 field contains a strong mix of major champions, Ryder Cup players, DP World Tour regulars and LIV Golf players.

Notable names include:

  • Rory McIlroy
  • Jon Rahm
  • Tommy Fleetwood
  • Justin Rose
  • Matt Fitzpatrick
  • Shane Lowry
  • Tyrrell Hatton
  • Patrick Reed
  • Brooks Koepka
  • Ryan Fox
  • Aaron Rai
  • J.J. Spaun
  • Alex Noren

Alex Noren returns as defending champion after beating Adrien Saddier in a play-off in 2025.

Shane Lowry also arrives in strong form after winning the Irish Open the week before Wentworth.

Players to Watch at Wentworth

Rory McIlroy

McIlroy is one of the biggest names in the field and a former BMW PGA Championship winner.

He won at Wentworth in 2014 and is always one of the main players followed by the galleries.

Jon Rahm

Rahm has come close at Wentworth before but has never won the BMW PGA Championship.

His combination of power, iron play and competitiveness makes him one of the more interesting players to follow this week.

Shane Lowry

Lowry won this event in 2022 and arrives at Wentworth immediately after winning the 2026 Irish Open.

That makes him one of the most in-form players in the field.

Tommy Fleetwood

Fleetwood remains one of the most popular English players at Wentworth.

He has the type of controlled tee-to-green game that can work well around the West Course.

Justin Rose

Rose is preparing for another appearance at Wentworth and is still searching for his first BMW PGA Championship victory.

He has finished runner-up at the event before, so there is a strong home-story angle if he starts well.

What Time Does the BMW PGA Championship Finish?

The full world feed is scheduled to finish at around:

  • 6:00pm on Thursday
  • 6:00pm on Friday
  • 5:30pm on Saturday
  • 5:30pm on Sunday

Actual finishing times can move slightly depending on pace of play, weather, delays and whether the tournament goes to a play-off.

If the leaderboard is tight on Sunday, it is sensible to keep the evening free rather than assuming the trophy will be lifted exactly at 5:30pm.

What Is at Stake at Wentworth?

The BMW PGA Championship is one of the most important events on the DP World Tour schedule.

It is a Rolex Series tournament and carries a $9 million prize fund, as well as 8,000 Race to Dubai points.

That makes it far more valuable than a standard DP World Tour week.

The result can have a major impact on:

  • Race to Dubai position
  • Season-ending Play-Off qualification
  • Tour status
  • World ranking position
  • Momentum heading into the closing part of the season

Is the BMW PGA Championship a Major?

No.

The BMW PGA Championship is not one of golf’s four majors.

The four men’s majors are:

  • The Masters
  • PGA Championship
  • U.S. Open
  • The Open

The BMW PGA Championship is the flagship event of the DP World Tour and one of the biggest non-major tournaments in European golf.

It should also not be confused with the PGA Championship major or the PGA Tour’s BMW Championship.

Best Way to Follow the BMW PGA Championship

If you want to watch as much as possible, the easiest setup is:

  • Start with the DP World Tour featured groups in the morning
  • Switch to Sky Sports Golf for the main broadcast
  • Use the DP World Tour leaderboard alongside the coverage
  • Follow Sky Sports and DP World Tour social channels for clips and highlights

This is particularly useful on Thursday and Friday, when the field is at its largest and there are plenty of groups on the course long before the main television feed begins.

Quick Guide: How to Watch the BMW PGA Championship 2026

Dates: Thursday 17 September to Sunday 20 September 2026

Venue: Wentworth Club, Virginia Water, Surrey

UK TV: Sky Sports Golf

Streaming: Sky Go, Sky Sports app and NOW

Free coverage: Selected featured groups on the DP World Tour YouTube channel

Celebrity Pro-Am: Wednesday 16 September, with Sky Sports Golf coverage listed from 3:00pm

The Bottom Line

The 2026 BMW PGA Championship is live from Wentworth from Thursday 17 September to Sunday 20 September.

UK and Irish viewers can watch all four tournament days on Sky Sports Golf, while those without a Sky TV package can stream through NOW.

The DP World Tour is also providing featured group coverage through YouTube, giving fans another way to follow selected players before the main broadcast begins.

With Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, Shane Lowry, Tyrrell Hatton and several other major names in the field, Wentworth should be one of the strongest DP World Tour events of the year.
