The rules for using FootWedge

Who these terms apply to

These terms apply when you browse the public FootWedge site, create an account, or use the FootWedge app and related content at footwedge.co.uk.

What FootWedge is

FootWedge is a personal golf-history platform. It helps golfers track rounds, scoring trends, handicap estimates, achievements, courses, selected social activity, Range sessions, and live RoundCast sharing.

FootWedge is not official handicapping software, not a tee-booking system, and not a replacement for an official competition or club-management provider.

Account responsibilities

• You must provide accurate account details and keep them up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your password and account access secure.
• You must not try to access other users' accounts, interfere with the service, or misuse any admin or testing features.
• If you share live rounds, friend activity, or other social content, you are responsible for the material you choose to publish through your account.
• If you set your golfer profile to Public, its golf record, recent completed rounds, achievements, and In the Bag can be viewed by anyone with the link. FootWedge marks all golfer profiles not to be indexed and excludes them from its sitemap, but you remain responsible for information you choose to share publicly.
• If you post public comments or other visible contributions, you are responsible for what you publish and for making sure you have the right to share it.

Golf data and estimates

• Scores, stats, and handicap figures shown in FootWedge can depend on information entered by users.
• Any handicap figure described as an estimate is not an official WHS handicap unless separately verified by an authorised provider.
• Course details, scorecards, map locations, and golf advice may come from FootWedge, clubs, external data providers, or user-submitted corrections, so you should check them before relying on them for formal play, travel, competition entry, or compliance purposes.

Live rounds, RoundCast, and location features

• Live-round sharing, RoundCast, nearby-course search, and similar map-led features are optional and depend on device support, signal, browser permissions, and accurate data entry.
• If you enable RoundCast or other location-led features, you are responsible for using them safely, lawfully, and without distracting yourself or anyone else from play, travel, or safety.
• If you enter or share scoring or live-round information about another player, you should only do so where you are entitled to do that.
• FootWedge is not an emergency, safety-critical, or referee system and does not guarantee perfect live tracking, timing, or location accuracy.

Public content and blogs

FootWedge may publish blogs, course pages, product updates, and general golf content for information only. That content is not coaching, legal advice, medical advice, or official rules interpretation.

If you post a public comment and it is published, you give FootWedge permission to display it on the site in connection with the relevant content. Public comments may also be indexed, cached, or quoted by third parties outside FootWedge's control.

Acceptable use

• Do not upload unlawful, infringing, abusive, or malicious content.
• Do not probe, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or intentionally disrupt the service without written permission.
• Do not use FootWedge to send spam, impersonate others, or harvest data about other users.

Ads, links, and third-party services

Public pages may include clearly labelled ads, sponsor placements, affiliate links, embedded maps, or links to third-party sites and services. FootWedge is not responsible for third-party sites, content, terms, or privacy practices once you leave FootWedge.

Availability and changes

FootWedge may change, pause, or remove features from time to time. We may also suspend or restrict access where needed for maintenance, security, legal compliance, misuse prevention, or operational reasons.

Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the FootWedge brand, design, software, and original site content remain owned by FootWedge or its licensors. These terms do not transfer any ownership rights to users.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law. Subject to that, FootWedge is provided on an as-available basis and is not intended to guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect accuracy, suitability for every purpose, or the correctness of all club, map, score, live-tracking, or third-party supplied information.

Privacy and cookies

How FootWedge handles personal data and device storage is explained in the Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
