How FootWedge uses device storage
FootWedge uses a small amount of device storage to keep the site secure, remember your cookie choice, and support features such as in-round scoring, temporary RoundCast tracking, and installable PWA behaviour. Optional functional storage and analytics stay off unless you choose them.

These items are used for the service you actively request, such as signing in or continuing an in-progress round. They do not depend on optional analytics consent.
Optional functional storage
Optional analytics and embedded third-party videos require a signed-in adult account as well as the relevant cookie choice. Junior and age-unknown accounts cannot enable them. Essential sign-in and private golf scoring continue to work.
These features stay off unless you allow functional storage in the cookie settings. This also allows embedded YouTube and TikTok videos to load. The provider receives your IP address and browser details and may use cookies for playback and measurement. See Google's privacy policy and TikTok's privacy policy. Turning functional storage off stops and unloads embedded videos; third-party cookies already set can be removed through your browser settings.

If you later enable device notifications while signed in, your browser or operating system may also keep its own notification permission and subscription data so FootWedge can send alerts to that device. The server-side handling of those records is described in the Privacy Notice.
Optional analytics measurement
FootWedge also keeps a simple aggregate count of site visits for operational reporting. One visit is counted per active server session, and the counter stores only the date and total number of visits. It does not store IP addresses, user agents, pages viewed, or visitor profiles.
If you allow analytics, FootWedge can use privacy-light first-party aggregate counters and Google Analytics 4 to understand how pages and key product journeys are used, including scroll completion, broad device and referral categories, course discovery, account access and completed rounds. Analytics is off by default and only turns on if you choose it.

Contextual first-party advertising
FootWedge may show a clearly labelled advert assigned specifically to the course guide or article you are viewing. These placements do not use advertising cookies, behavioural profiles or third-party ad-technology scripts. Impression and click totals are recorded only when you have allowed analytics, and raw IP addresses are not stored in those logs.

Email marketing choices are handled separately through account settings or the email-only mailing-list confirmation and unsubscribe links. They are not controlled by this cookie banner.
How to change your choice
You can reopen cookie settings at any time using the Manage cookies link in the footer. Turning off functional storage removes optional saved settings, app caching, and device-notification support on later use. Turning off analytics stops FootWedge engagement events, first-party ad measurement and Google Analytics.
