14 September 2026
- More room in the mobile navigation: Home, Play, Divisions, My Golf and More now have readable labels. Find Browse courses near the top of Play.
- A guided tour when you need it: new golfers can explore the app, and returning golfers can catch up on the changes. Replay App tutorial from More.
- Next hole now returns to unfinished holes after the end of the card, skipping scores and Not played flags. Once all holes are accounted for, Review & finish becomes the main action.
6 September 2026
- A locked playing handicap can now coexist with the FootWedge estimate: save an official or fixed value without stopping FootWedge from calculating progress from scorecards.
- Choose the FootWedge estimate or locked handicap while starting a round. The selected value is preserved with that scorecard once play begins.
- Round Together golfers can make their own choice before play, including when sharing a tee in a Scramble.
31 August 2026
- Every round now starts in one place: choose players, course, format, tees and timing through the new five-step Start Round flow.
- Solo cards, FootWedge friends and organiser-scored guests can all be set up without choosing between separate creation pages.
- Divisions are now available under Play: create an eight-gameweek private competition or join the official FootWedge tiered ladder.
- Compatible completed scorecards are assessed automatically, with weekly tables, Match Play fixtures and locked historic results.
- Blog articles now support image carousels: editors can bulk-upload managed images and combine them into an accessible, swipeable gallery with captions and alt text.
28 August 2026
- Public blog and golf-course pages now include a Share action using the device share sheet or a copy-link fallback.
- Visitors can opt into FootWedge articles and product updates by email using a secure double-confirmation mailing list.
- Public prompts are infrequent, accessible and remain hidden for signed-in golfers.
27 August 2026
- Assisted ball tracking is now available in Shot Tracer: confirm the ball on its first visible frame and FootWedge follows it through the clip on your device.
- Preview the detected path, correct an individual frame or retry the trace before exporting the finished replay.
- Source video and tracking analysis remain on the golfer's device.
- Blog articles can now include validated TikTok video embeds alongside privacy-enhanced YouTube videos.
24 August 2026
- Your Courses Played Map is now inside My Golf: saved UK scorecards automatically add the course to a private map, including partially played cards with recorded scores.
- Older courses can be marked manually without creating a scorecard or changing personal statistics.
- Search the course directory and add any older course you have played.
- The map can be exported as a PNG showing played-course, saved-scorecard and county totals.
23 August 2026
- FootWedge navigation is now simpler: Home, Play, Courses, My Golf and More are the five consistent destinations on desktop and mobile.
- Play brings solo rounds, Round Together, Range and Shot Tracer into one activity hub, while My Golf brings recent rounds, statistics, handicap progress and achievements together.
21 August 2026
- Head-to-head is now part of Round Together: compare wins, draws, losses and recent form against each FootWedge friend.
- Gross and Net Match Play can use Basic tracking, where both golfers confirm each hole, or In-depth tracking with two complete personal scorecards.
- Basic results are saved only as a competitive match. In-depth cards also appear in each golfer’s history and performance statistics, while remaining excluded from the FootWedge handicap estimate.
- Net Match Play uses the difference between the golfers’ Course Handicaps, with manual estimates clearly marked for verification.
14 August 2026
- Scramble is now available in Round Together: create one shared team scorecard for two to four golfers, with gross and net scoring.
- The organiser can record the team score and select whose drive was used on every par 4 and par 5.
- FootWedge tracks each golfer’s selected drives live, calculates the minimum contribution from the course layout and warns when a required quota is at risk.
- Team Playing Handicaps use the recommended scramble allowances, with manual FootWedge estimates clearly marked for organiser verification.
- Competitive cards validate scores, selected drives and minimum-drive requirements before finalisation. Cards that do not meet those conditions can still be saved as non-competitive.
- Every participant receives the same team card in their round history, without the scramble affecting personal handicap or individual performance statistics.
- Completed scramble results can be exported as a branded PNG containing the team roster, scorecard, gross and net totals, and drive contributions.
13 August 2026
- Saved scorecards can now be exported as PNG images: each export includes a compact round header, Front 9 and Back 9 cards, golf score markers, and final totals without including the surrounding app interface.
- Supported phones open the native sharing menu, while other devices download the finished scorecard image directly.
11 August 2026
- The handicap page has been rebuilt: eligible saved 18-hole scorecards now update a clearly labelled FootWedge handicap estimate automatically.
- A new progress graph, counting differentials and full scoring record explain exactly which cards affect the estimate and why other cards are excluded.
- Manual estimates remain available as a temporary starting point, then lock and are replaced once three eligible cards establish the calculated estimate.
- Future solo and Round Together scorecards preserve the format and handicap context in force when play begins.
10 August 2026
- Round Together is here: organise an immediate or scheduled round for two to four FootWedge golfers.
- Invite friends directly or share a secure joining link, with joining closed automatically when the group is full or scoring begins.
- The organiser scores everyone through the familiar FootWedge hole-by-hole scorecard, with a named score field for every playing partner.
- Live standings adapt to Gross Stroke, Net Stroke, Stableford, Gross Match Play or Net Match Play. Match play remains a two-player format.
- Finalising saves a normal FootWedge round and hole data into every participating golfer’s history.
- Scheduled reminders, result reactions and dedicated notification preferences are included.
9 August 2026
- Opening an in-app or pushed notification now removes it from the notification inbox.
- Playing tees are locked once a round begins, while tee selection remains part of round setup.
4 August 2026
- Golfers now have a shareable profile, bringing together their golf record, recent completed rounds, achievements, and In the Bag.
- Profile visibility can be set to Public, Friends only, or Private from Settings, with existing accounts starting at the safer Friends-only option.
- Profile pages can be shared directly according to their visibility setting but are not submitted for search indexing.
- Completed scorecards now finish with a clear totals row for shots, putts, fairways hit, and greens in regulation.

- Live round viewing has been rebuilt with cleaner mobile scorecards, better hole context, and a sharper full-round tracker for friends following play.
- Golfers can now abandon their own in-progress rounds directly from the scorecard, with live sharing and temporary RoundCast data cleared at the same time.
- RoundCast maps now use satellite imagery for a clearer view of the hole while a round is in progress.
