Hartlepool Golf Club

Hartlepool Golf Club is a traditional coastal course at the northern edge of Hartlepool, with views across the North Sea and an exposed setting that allows the wind to influence almost every round. Established in 1906, the course was later shaped by five-time Open champion James Braid.

The par-70 layout measures just over 6,200 yards, but its challenge is not defined by length alone. Tight playing lines, well-positioned bunkers and firm coastal conditions place a premium on accuracy, while the sea breeze can make club selection difficult even on the shorter holes.

Hartlepool rewards golfers who control their ball flight and play to sensible positions from the tee. There are scoring chances for those who stay out of trouble, but missed lines can quickly leave difficult approaches and awkward recovery shots.
