Middlesbrough Golf Club - Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough Golf Club is an established parkland course at Brass Castle, around five miles south of Middlesbrough. Founded in 1908 and designed by James Braid, the course makes effective use of the natural ravines and undulating ground found across the site.

The par-70 layout measures 6,333 yards from the white tees, with changes in elevation and clearly defined holes placing a premium on accurate driving and controlled approach play. Several holes use the sloping terrain to create awkward lies and demanding shots into the greens, while the course’s mature setting can punish golfers who stray too far from position.

Middlesbrough rewards golfers who manage the course carefully rather than relying on distance alone. Keeping the ball in play and leaving approaches from the correct side of the fairway are important across a varied layout that provides a strong test without depending entirely on length.
