Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club - Dunstanburgh

Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club is a traditional links course set beside Embleton Bay on the Northumberland coast. Designed by James Braid, the layout runs through natural coastal ground beneath the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, with firm turf, exposed fairways and changing sea winds shaping the round.

The course relies on positioning, trajectory control and an ability to judge the conditions rather than excessive length. Bunkers, rough and uneven lies punish shots that miss their intended line, while the wind can completely change how individual holes play from one day to the next.

Dunstanburgh Castle rewards golfers who keep the ball low when required and accept that links golf often demands patience. Accurate driving and sensible approaches provide scoring chances, but poor course management can quickly turn manageable holes into difficult recoveries.
