About the Course
Windermere Golf Club is a compact and distinctive course set among the rolling landscape of the Lake District. Natural rises, rocky outcrops, heather and bracken shape the holes, while narrow fairways and small greens make accuracy more important than the course’s modest overall length.
The course has no conventional sand bunkers, instead using uneven ground, changes in elevation and natural hazards as its main defence. Six par threes bring plenty of variety, while several shorter par fours offer scoring chances for golfers who find the correct position from the tee.
Windermere rewards controlled driving and confident play from uneven lies. The layout may appear short on the scorecard, but its narrow targets, exposed positions and demanding closing holes provide a much stronger test than the yardage suggests.
